We had a wonderful day in Antigonish, hosting the annual Archie MacKeigan Education Day on September 21st. Members were welcomed by workshop leader, Rhys Bevan-John, for a morning session on teamwork. Rhys used real-life scenarios to teach the content effectively and demonstrate how to apply in our workplaces. He hosted a very engaging, interactive session that cultivated a lot raw and relatable discussion within the group.

In the afternoon, we were joined by Pharmacists Maureen Crossman and Susan Peddle who discussed the expanded scope of practice for pharmacists and Dawn MacDonald, CTRS, from NS Therapeutic Recreation who explained the differences between diversional and therapeutic programming and the benefits both offer to staff and residents.
The day offered a wide variety of topics for our frontline staff and managers, and provided the opportunity to learn and network with colleagues.
We look forward to hosting more educational opportunities for our members!
